Influential Muslim and Jewish Leaders form Alliance

This article is about the formation of the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council by the American Jewish Committee. This council, which was formed in the fall of 2016, includes clergy, business executives, and major thought leaders from the Muslim and Jewish communities in America. As the two most persecuted religious groups in our country, the formation of this council seemed like a natural step in the fight against bigotry. Last week, the council went to Capitol Hill and met with Congressmen and women from both sides of the aisle to talk about the importance of their interfaith alliance and stress how urgent the matter of religious persecution is. Given how much there is that could be dividing the Muslim and Jewish communities of the United States, it is especially pleasing to see a group so devoted to pursuing understanding as the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council.
