A Mosque Grows in North Philly

Today’s Metro newspaper actually has a positive story about Muslims in America, more specifically in the City of Brotherly Love. The first ever mosque built from scratch in Philadelphia is nearing completion. Situated off North Broad street, the mosque is a project of the Philadelphia chapter of the Ahmadiyya society, a sect of Islam with roots in India. The mosque itself will offer programs and services for the community in which it resides as well.

Remember, there are 200,000 Muslims who call Philadelphia home, so it makes sense to see a new house of worship for this growing population.
